It was an amazing experience to watch Virat Kohli bat and get to his 31st ODI hundred. Now he has the most number of runs after 200 ODIs, so there's another one for Hashim Amla to break! Virat won the toss and surprisingly chose to bat first maybe thinking that the wicket might get slower. Kohli with the help of middle order and lower middle order put India in a respectable position but it was a left arm seamer again who caused problems as Trent Boult ran through the Indian top order. Rohit Sharma is not being able to find any other way to get out to left arm seamers than to the ball swinging in. Santner kept it very tight in the middle which helped seamers in the death overs. New Zealand's batting looked a bit shaky till the fall of Martin Guptill's wicket. Once Tom Latham and Ross Taylor got in, they took control of the game and kept controlling it till the very end. Today once again the New Zealanders  showed that they are sincere learners of the game. They took notes from the India-Australia series and came in with a set plan and executed it brilliantly. The way Tom Latham played was absolutely astonishing. He basically scored a run-a-ball hundred playing sweeps, conventional sweep, paddle sweep and reverse sweep, cut shot and touch and go singles. He didn't play a single lofted shot in the 'V' because he wasn't forced to play one by Virat Kohli. Ross Taylor at the other end in his own way scored 97 to take New Zealand home.
